Update Instructions
We recommend that you be paranoid and do the following before installing
the new version so you can revert
to the current system if there are any new problems:
- Stop sellEbit.
- Take the opportunity to back up your system.
- Rename C:\sellEbit(we usually put the date
on the end)
- Make a copy of C:\sellEbitData (your database and support files)
You can then download a new version which will create two new folders:
- C:\sellEbit is the new version of the software
- C:\sellEbitFiles is the latest copy of the data area.
You probably will not need to re-install Java.
You then simply start up sellEbit, and the software will attempt to
make any changes necessary:
- The database structure may be upgraded.
- New files may be copied from the sellEbitFiles folder to the
sellEbitData folder.
- Configuration files may be extended.
You need to check the new version of the manual to see if there is
anything extra that you need to do.
